Idolatry in the Young | Appetite of the Parents
We worry that the Young are leaving the church. We blame it on Bible keeping leadership and style of worship, that it is too boring and unrelatable. Why are the children of parents who love Jesus unable to relate to Jesus? Some things to think about are the life choices we make in all aspects. How is this affecting our children as they carefully watch us? Dear non-parent church members, we are not exempt even if they are not our own children. They are watching you. What do you choose to put on your plate at fellowship meal? That sweet sugary dessert dripping with choclaty cream? Or the whole grain with lightly prepared vegetables that doesn't give you food coma afterwards?
What are we choosing to do for worship (especially this holiday season)? Hypnotic music which speak of magic and stars? Unbiblical stories and depictions that do nothing but confuse the soul and sensationalizes our worship experience? Music arrangements which can shut off the sense of ration in our brain? Our kids absorb these things like a sponge.. Please beware and bring all your decisions to Christ. Compare Scripture upon Scripture and then the content we present and teach our children.
We say Christ is the King, and it may say that on a song lyric..but is the whole offering of the song a bit diluted with a different god or idol? Making it hard to decipher? God is our Creator, but are we changing what He gave us to nourish our bodies to the point where it is poison to us? We keep Sabbath in honor of His Creatorship. Then is our Sabbath meal full of healthful whole portions of God's creation? Or are they filled with man-altered corruptions which do nothing but disease our bodies and minds? While it may fulfill our addiction to the idol of our appetite..?
God is purifying His church. He is doing this also to strengthen His church with His power. He is preparing us to safely bring us home while we go through the time of trouble along the way. Are we then to fill ourselves with the curses of Mamon, and expect to receive the power of the Holy and Pure God of the universe? May we all be able to stand firm on that day and not bow to the statue.
Christ perfects our imperfections. Bring all at the feet of Jesus. Let Him handle this enormous task for you. Ask for Him to give you faith give you clarity give you the ability to make the right choices, only and all according to His will. He will bless mightily and exceedingly.
