Deal thy Bread

Practicing our Faith ‭During this Holiday Season : James‬ ‭2:14‭-‬17‬ , Isaiah‬ ‭58:6‭-‬8‬ ‭

How can we go about our #Sabbath holiday church programs and fellowship meals with a "true sense of what is comprised in the word Christian"?

Lessons From Testimonies for the Church Volume 2, Chapter called "DUTY TO ORPHANS"

‭‭

Isaiah‬ ‭58:6‭-‬8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

[6] Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? [7] Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? [8] Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.

James‬ ‭2:14‭-‬17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

[14] What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? [15] If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, [16] and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? [17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

But every man's work is to be tested, and brought into judgment, ... “Honor the Lord with thy substance, ...“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? ..."...notice the rich reward promised to those who do this. “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily.”

I was shown that should professed Christians cultivate more affection and kind regard in caring for others, they would be repaid fourfold. God marks...He stands there in the person of the poor, the homeless orphans, and the afflicted widows, who need love, sympathy, affection, and encouragement.

Testimonies for the church 2:329.2

Our Redeemer throws souls into the arms of the church, for them to care for unselfishly and train for heaven, and thus be co-workers with Him. It is the duty of every Christian to engage in this self-denying, self-sacrificing enterprise.

But few have a true sense of what is comprised in the word Christian. It is to be Christlike, to do others good, to be divested of all selfishness, and to have our lives marked with acts of disinterested benevolence.
